Have You Ever Owned a Wankel Rotary Engine?

wildbill83 · 36-40, M
no, I prefer low-mid range torque

not something that sounds like a mad bee going up a grade...

@wildbill83 Yeah they definitely were a niche market. Much like the modern electrics I think. I drove it a few times and didn't like the squished grape feeling I got when I stepped on the accelerator and the revs didn't change for a minute or two.

@hippyjoe1955 main reason I went with my current S4, descent power, good in winter/snow, will pull well in any gear, and is still practical/will seat 4 adults

@wildbill83 Yeah that makes sense. I own a F150 4 wheel drive with a 3.5 liter gas engine. No end of torque. I can run up 11% grades at highway speed and it won't down shift of lug.

Pretty sure I can say no

Yes, 2 RX-7's

I drove a car with one but didn't own it. They worked - sorta.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Wanted to. They use a lot of oil. Eight quarts per change I think?

@Tastyfrzz Really smooth.
On an old Mazda Cosmo, years ago.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I don't think anyone makes the engine anymore. Seals gave out too soon.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@Tastyfrzz That was the main problem.
Mazda had anounced the return of a Wankel powered car for 2020, anyhow.
Huh-huh-huh you said “Wankel”
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
Sounds kinky
