What is the most invasive thing that has happened to you?

Last month, my home was robbed while we were away and we lost nearly $10,000. That was my most invasive experience.

I feel as if you go through a series of milestones after being robbed - as with any tragedy or life-altering event.

It was overwhelmingly devastating at first.

Then, I was angered to the point of tears.

Soon-after, I devoted every bit of energy I could towards playing Sherlock and trying to find out who could have robbed us. I cut out new friends, rethought conversations, gathered evidence.

Throughout it all I felt unsafe and as if my home was no longer warm. I purged old belongings, I moved furniture around, and I couldn't sleep.

We will make that money back eventually, I suppose - and we learned a hard lesson about keeping cash around.

I'll never feel the same at home, though, or alone on a dark night. My irrational fear of breakins occurring became reality and my night-terrors about such are awful now.

But I'm still breathing.

I’m so sorry. Have you gotten ADT since that happened? Or some other security device? It’s also a good idea to get motion lights and there are sirens you can put even in the driveway.

I believe colonoscopies are too invasive. I’ll never do it again. They don’t tell you the dangers in this procedure. They could puncture your colon, giving you big problems. I know people are for them and why, but for me, I’ve had it done twice and I will never do it again. I had my first one in 2000, and have never been the same.
