It was called a Trompo (pronounced: Trohmpō)
Aka a Mexican spinning top.

My grandad would make them himself if his little wood shop and we would paint them ourselves 😁

This is sort of what they looked like

@KaysHealingPath Played with one of those in Spanish class.
AliceTinker · 51-55, F
@KaysHealingPath your grandad would make them ? That's amazing!
Did you learn to make them yourself?
KaysHealingPath · 36-40, F
@AliceTinker I never learned how and I just realized I called him my granddad but he was my great granddad - he raised my dad and all his siblings when my grandfather passed away while my dad and his siblings were still little

My great granddad died when I was 7 so I had 1 that I loved for many many years but then it vanished when my mom and her husband started moving around a lot. Since it wasn’t a keepsake from her family she didn’t care much when it got lost

One of my favourite game's was Legend of Dragoon. It was for the PlayStation one. I was sooo hook on it back then. You know if you ever check those videos of the best PlayStation one game's it is never talked about. I wonder if many people had it.

Battling tops. Regret that got thrown away at some point

@AliceTinker I had action men. There's a board game cafe near me that has loads of the old ones. I'll see you there
AliceTinker · 51-55, F
@SW-User 👍I'm there !
Can you bring your action men please?
SW-User
@AliceTinker Sadly the action men are long gone. As music became my dominant interest as a teenager all those toys got sold as I needed money for amps, guitars etc.
JustNik · 51-55, F
My yard. I had some barbies and my little ponies, but I took care of them - didn’t play with them. I don’t remember seeing any games in the house.
AliceTinker · 51-55, F
@JustNik outside was the best, so sweet you still cared for your toys

Pitchback. Throw a ball and it comes back to you. Hour after hour. :)
I saw 'marbles' before I saw your age. Love it. Pre-digital tech. I think we got lucky.
exexec · 61-69, C
"Clue" was about the only game we played. If it wasn't storming, I was always outside running wild in the woods.
AliceTinker · 51-55, F
@exexec yeah me too
