There are brief moments when a demented person grasps reality again. Enjoy them. They will give you strength to deal with the harder moments. The ones that make you cry. The ones that make you wonder why does a person exist like this. When my mom lived with dementia, she was a ghost of herself. But those lucid moments-those were when the sun shone so brightly, I couldn't help but smile and laugh with her!

Kinda not really... but I mean, my school is just cursed or something.... my junior year we lost 8 kids in a drunk driving accident... they were all in one car, and the driver wasn't in that count.

I believe that is called the "window of lucidity" and, somewhat ironically, confuses people unfamiliar with dementia and Alzheimer's.
My grandfather never lost his sense of humor, but as his Alzheimer's increased, it got lumped in with all the other weird behavior. I got it, though, and I told him I understood. I really treasure that.

I know exactly what you mean, lol. I feel bad laughing at some or behaviour because i lnow its due to dementia, but it can ne pretty funny,

That part is pretty sad

That is similar to Irish Alzheimers...you forget everything but the grudges
Ur granddad was the dapper 👍🏼

The sick part is that my family's dark sense of humor would include doing that without any dementia. Most likely, we would make disparaging remarks, kinda like a Festivus event.

Yes its even better, sometimes "in real life" i have a hard time because most people do not share that sense of humour and ive often made a joke in bad taste
