There are brief moments when a demented person grasps reality again. Enjoy them. They will give you strength to deal with the harder moments. The ones that make you cry. The ones that make you wonder why does a person exist like this. When my mom lived with dementia, she was a ghost of herself. But those lucid moments-those were when the sun shone so brightly, I couldn't help but smile and laugh with her!
