Six Miles A Day
Last week ( I think it was a week ago. I would have to check my posts), I started walking again. I did this because my blood pressure kept swinging from 180/110 to 100/60, and my pulse rate kept swinging from 80-100.( topping 100 some days). My edema got worse, and I figured it could have something to do with my heart. Weight loss and increased exercise seemed like a good idea.
So, I started intermittent fasting ( after a bumpy start. I wrote about in another post), and walking. At first a mile or two, then 4 or 5. I would walk one mile at a time and rest, and then do it again. Today, I am walking 6 miles a day, and I am walking 2 miles at a time before needing a short rest.🙂
Today, for the first time in several weeks, my blood pressure has been stable at around 120/70 and my pulse rate has stayed stable around 72-75. My edema is much better too! :-)
Next week, or sooner, I will bump the number of miles I walk a day up to 8 miles. Hopefully, I will be able to do this in 2-mile stretches before needing a break, but if I have to work up to that, I will. 🙂
One good thing about not having much to do in your life is that you can take the time you need to take care of yourself, out of your busy day. In this way I am greatly blessed. 🙂
