I Need To Keep Motivated To Exercise

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR951Qh3r6E]

Listening to smooth jazz is what motivates me to exercise. How about you? What types of music do you exercise by? All I need is a good beat and my body is good to go. No routine
or specific steps are required. Just determination and effort. 馃槂

I have been running consistently now for 46 years. I use to listen to Classic Rock and Reggae while running. That was a habit I evolved away from for safety reasons. Now I listen to my body. My excellent health is my motivation to continue. If music helps you stay fit, by all means continue.

@RenaissanceMan Music is only a small part of keeping myself healthy, and motivated to maintain my weight. There are other factors like healthy eating. Trying to keep a positive attitude and being around encouraging, positive people.

@RenaissanceMan For safety reasons? I read your comment again and was wondering what dangers Classic Rock and Reggae music posed to you. I think I have an idea of why you might have stopped listening to these 2 types of music genres.
@awingandaprayer I listen to the message in all music.
After many years of running I became a pure runner. No gidget gadgets to wear. No need for them. However, some people are just trying to maintain their health or recover from an illness and need the heart monitor, etc.
I prefer to listen to my body and meditate. Running for me is a lifestyle..my religion. Meditation, prayer, and my dog is what accompanies me when I run. There are cases where runners have been killed while running because they couldn't hear a vehicle coming. They had earbuds on. Such was the case with one of my youngest cousins. He was running this way, out in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road in East Texas. Drunk driver hit him from behind, though he was running on the proper side of the road facing traffic. This is what I meant by being safe. Most of my runs are in a forest when I'm at home in Colorado. When I'm on my farm...as I am now here in Kansas, I have hundreds of miles of long straight dirt roads. I want to absorb nature and it's sounds. Music is a distraction for that peace and connection to my Creator.
