My Childhood Home of Nature

This was one of my favorite places in the whole world as a child. I spent many a day playing and growing up here. My grandfather used to own this farm until he passed a few years ago. My uncle took it over and just let it go so to speak. It’s too much for him to handle evidently. But, I went today and looked around , thought I would take a few pics. It felt good to be here…..the nostalgia was amazing. Being out in nature today , made me realize how precious life is. 🌳🍁🍂🍄🍃❤️

This looks very similar to an area I grew up in, in Michigan. A great place to grow up, to be close to nature. A person can come up with so many things to do and explore in an area like this.

@windinhishair you are right about that!! So many kids nowadays have no concept of the outdoors anymore. The outdoors still always call to me!! 😊

@SW-User And to me as well. I would spend whole days outside, catching turtles, frogs, snakes, and salamanders, swinging on grapevines, swimming in an abandoned quarry, listening to birds and other wildlife, floating things down the creek, making and using rafts, and hundreds of other things. Now 60 years later, I still spend part of each day outside walking, even in sub-zero weather. Those can actually be some of the best days.

You were so fortunate to grow up in such a place.

@windinhishair well, it’s so good to find like minded people such as myself. I did all those things growing up too!! 😁
