Has anyone ever had a personal trainer ?

Was it good ?

Was it a worth it ?

What was it for ?

- im thinking about lashing out on myself and getting one...

.....well more it's: I'm naturally a lazy fuck with very little self motivation left after work and house work.

I'm looking at the dust collecting on my exercise bike and free weights and have come to the hard realization, that i need the fear of facing up to someone, and someone telling me what to do.....to do it.

So, you want a Dom? 😜
@NudasPriest 😅...i refuse to make any definite claims on the grounds i might incriminate myself 😇
Yes. It was good in some ways to push myself a bit.

I had a trainer for six months, just for general toning and proper technique. As for motivation, a good workout partner will keep both of you honest.
@SageWanderer ahhh, there's a catch, ive no one to train with.
And im not sure i want to.
This is a personal persuit im doing totally for me. I want to build the base of regularity and get to that place where you enjoy the exercise. Then, i think i can continue on my own.

Plus, im no spring chicken and i want to be sure of my form/technique - I dont want to injure myself.

The idea being i work upto 2 or 3 compound exercises that i can do in 20 minutes or so daily, to maintain.

@OogieBoogie That was the reason for the personal trainer, proper technique to prevent injury. As for training partners, we managed to push ourselves to being able to do a metric century on bicycle. Unfortunately, she moved away and I became too involved in life to continue.

I can say that compared to a lot of my coworkers, the need for hip or knee replacements or shoulder surgeries haven’t been needed so far. As part of my self care I need to get back to my exercise program.
No. I work out at home. Added walking in.

I use my weights/barbell the most
@Bexsy GOOD FOR YOU ! 🤗 💪
Im just too lazy. I have the room and the weights, just not enough motivation.

My boyfriend trains people at the gym. Has he ever coached or trained me? No because I’d rather be at home eating cake 🙃🤣

[media=https://youtu.be/F1gd_9noZMA]All you need is a skipping rope, six foot of snow, a massive mountain..

Oh and I just notice he's got a personal trainer to motivate him so yeah maybe there's something in it after all 🤔 LOLZ 😄

@AdaXI 😅
There ain't no way my current jumbo jubblies are going anywhere NEAR a jump rope 😂

Not in person .. worked with a couple virtually that put together eating and workout plans and I executed on my own.
@BrandNewMan how did it go?
I looked it up and many P.T.s offer different degrees of help - from online to face to face.

@OogieBoogie It helped me break through weight plateaus and burn fat without losing muscle. I learned from the experiences and kept off weight lost while retaining strength gained.

I am motivated by desire to improve pre-diabetic blood sugar numbers. I've dropped blood sugar by 100 mg/dl with diet changes and exercise. I am hoping to see further reduction.

I lift at home on a leverage based home gym and with free weights. I lift 4 to 5 days a week. I walk 18-20 miles or so a week (including push mowing my yard) specifically for exercise and do some calisthenics, which is what I need to increase from here.

No Motivation
No personal trainer....but they run at $80/hr at my Gym.

Created a habit. I don’t do Gym or Train on my own. I attend CrossFit classes Monday to Friday.
@KiwiBird im thinking maybe a PT will get me thru the hardest part of "developing a habit".

I do remember looking forward to training years ago. Hated if i missed it.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
Well they should get you into good lifting technique and equipment use...and how to squat etc. There are always alternatives to things you can't do.....line jumps instead of skipping etc.

No, but I thought about it once a while ago when I was going to the rec/gym.

I determined I was likely too independent and free spirited to have someone telling me what and when to do this or that. Although I can defo see where it may help with motivation if needed.
