Dude, gym people are some of the nicest you'll ever meet. I promise that if you can just ask someone to help you, 98 out of 100 would be happy to. You'll get free advice, encouragement and a bunch of people rooting for you to succeed.

@Skippyskiptic I don't know those guys are half my age and look intimidating

@buriedalive I understand that feeling if you aren't used to the gym community, but it's just not reality. Almost everyone there is just like you,but further down the road. Don't you love talking about and teaching people about the things you're passionate about? They are the same way. Gym dudes are some of the biggest geeks you'll ever meet. They just happen to be interested in lifting as opposed to dungeons and dragons or Star wars

No, because thankfully we have none of that at the Recreation center gym. I never go to "gyms". But I would hate that. Is there a rec center you could go to there?
buriedalive · 46-50, M
@Magenta Not sure I'd have to look

Yeah it’s best not to use em if you don't know how.. a person could get injured 😬 i guess there’s no instructors at your gym? I never really been to one 😬
buriedalive · 46-50, M
@GoFish Not sure if there are or not. I'm just gonna go in YouTube

I support staying fit, but gym culture is so cringe to me.
buriedalive · 46-50, M
@DearAmbellina2113 I don't know anything about gym culture. I just keep to myself

Ask the staff or a personal trainer at the gym they should be able to provide you with instructions

Find a less popular gym, where the posers don't go.
