I'm willing to go on record to say that Kratom is fantastic
The first time I tried it, I thought it would be like a recreational drug and I was sorely disappointed by the results. It's not psychoactive, so you're not going to go on any trip. It's a bit like CBD, it's not without it's benefits. I felt nice and relaxed that evening, and that was definitely not nothing.
I decided to take a few grams before my hike today in order to maximize my sense of serenity outdoors, and wow, what an experience it was.
The anti-anxiety aspects of it were felt right away, as I was so calm and loose that I didn't even worry in the slightest about letting my dogs run around as we made our way through the trails. I was in a superb mood the entire time. I felt light and limber through every twist and turn and incline, and was completely at peace just being among the trees.
The other benefit of it was the pain-relief. I had a heavy day of lifting yesterday, so there's naturally going to be some soreness in the morning. But the tightness and tenderness I woke up with completely disappeared on the trails. My muscles were basically as good as new and the my legs never once felt the wear and tear from the steep, rocky paths.
That's also the other thing about Kratom, is that it fills you with energy. It's nowhere near the level of an amphetamine, but despite hiking for over two and a half hours without a break, on the day after an intense workout, I still feel great. I had plenty of vigor left long after my dogs were ready to call it a day. They're sprawled out on the bed trying to recover and I'm currently considering getting in more exercise with some light lifting. Energy drinks can just eat their heart out.
It's also a bit of an appetite suppressant, apparently. Normally I'm ready to eat an incredulous amount of food after a hike like this, but I feel great. I'm going to eat anyway because I know I should, but my stomach is not throwing the temper-tantrum it normally would after this level of physical activity.
It's supposed to last about 4 hours, so I'll see where I'm at in a few, but I've never had anything make me feel this good before. This stuff really works. I think I found a new favorite pick-me-up.
