Christians love to Strawman Evolution so that they can dismiss it. My challenge to you is this: STEELman the case for evolution.

Show that you understand what evolution is and the arguments and evidence behind it by describing the strongest possible case for evolution.
Strawmanning the case for evolution and then arguing against that imaginary, false idea of it is pointless. At best people will just see that you're misrepresenting the argument and at worst will make you look ignorant of the argument.
Instead, Steelman the case for evolution and then argue against that.

We don't need any more of this "you believe in evolution because you love sin" or "a tornado can't blow through and assemble a 747" , nonsense.

I see nothing to argue about. You believe in evolution, that’s fine. If somehow you could convince me to believe in evolution it wouldn’t make a bit of difference. It wouldn’t make your life or my life better. It wouldn’t solve any problems either of us face.
Believe and let believe that’s my motto

You believe in evolution...
That's the thing, though. It's not a religious belief.
@GJOFJ3

lol that's fine. I haven't made this thread for the purpose of changing someone's life.
This thread is for those who are interested in the debate and an help them to improve their case.

@LordShadowfire It’s still a belief. Remember we’ve been told repeatedly, “Believe the science!”
@GJOFJ3

The difference being that science is not a set of beliefs that must be adhered to as in a religion but is instead simply a tool, a process which has shown itself to move inexorably towards things that are demonstrably true about the world.

@Pikachu Why would I debate something that has no upside? It’s a pointless argument
@GJOFJ3

lol well it sounds like you wouldn't which means this thread is not for you. You are not compelled to participate here.
Although i think you're missing the upside which is that this kind of exercise teaches people to engage more honestly and thoughtfully when a disagreement arises.

And so you think the scientific process, the process by which we confirm the evidence of the world around us, is some kind of god? You think people who follow the science have some statue of Charles Darwin in their bedrooms, praying to him in the morning? We tell you to believe the science, not believe IN science. That's because people do countless hours of research to discover the most likely conclusion. Stop twisting people's words.

@LordShadowfire Not at all. Believing something doesn’t require a god
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@GJOFJ3 No, but you are definitely hiding behind the propaganda that it has no evidence to it, and intentionally using the wrong definition of the word believe.
@GJOFJ3

I think i gave a good differentiation between believing in a religion and believing the conclusions of science. What do you think?
