Working Weekends?

How many of you work every weekend, and are really not bothered that you do?
Top | New | Old
These days most things seem to happen in the week. For example.. The weather is better in the week, I’m more likely to see someone I know shopping in the week, there is a great atmosphere in bars and pubs on a Thursday or Friday, shops are less busy in the week etc.

I worked weekends for years, most of my 20s and 30s. It wasn’t all in the day time, many were night shifts so I saw my friends in the day. Occasionally it got to me but I think when Covid hit, I didn’t mind so much, nobody was going out and because I worked right through it, I saw my friends aka some of my coworkers all through covid

I work 2 weekends a month and enjoy it, as it's much quieter and everyone is more relaxed. I am happy doing a bit of both.

I don't mind working them it just annoys me when my bosses questions the hours on my time sheets AFTER they just assumed I'd cover the extra workload anyway !

am always work in weekend as it help me to keep me busy to overcome my loneliness and also I never have any to meet in weekend no where to go nothing to do for my own so never think to take leave really , as a resident worker every day is my working day

I work every weekend. It doesn't bother me. I just make the most of my 3 off days. Sometimes it feels like my off days last forever.

I did it for many years. They paid me extra and had minimal contact with others. I loved it!

I do, I don't mind, I’ve always worked weekends, I prefer a day off through the week.

I used to work in Hospitality - as the weekends are the busiest trading times it just went with the territory.
I do for now. It’s so boring. I was told this would be the busiest time here and its crickets every weekend. Even if this place holds an event, 5 people might show up, just to ask a few questions and leave again. I feel lied to.

@nonsensiclesnail I prefer boring to hectic. I would pop in one earbud cover my ear with my hair and listen to a podcast to past the time.
@AngelUnforgiven I love hectic. I love being busy. Of course a lull in that is nice, but I hate this sitting and waiting when I know there is so much I could be doing. I bring projects with me to work on, but there is only so much I can bring with me. Since being here I’ve read a couple books, Ive listened through a podcast. I’d much rather be talking to customers and dealing with inventory.

I work Wednesday through Saturday, four 12 hour shifts. I'm just glad I get three days off.

I prefer to work on weekends because there are too many people around town if I'm trying to get things done on a weekend or go someplace of interest on weekends. Weekends off are for those 9 to 5 types who don't have any other time available to get things done or to do things with family. If I'm off too at the same time, they're in my way and I'm in there way.
I sometimes do part time on a Sunday but wouldn't want to all the time
