Why would anyone have weddings at plantations considering their dark history?

It's very awkward.

Well they're not still using slavery today. Plantations aren't inherently bad.

True, but it still seems to be celebrating the wealth brought about from slavery.
@calicuz I don't think it's necessarily a celebration just by holding a wedding there. There would have to be some pro-slavery imagery or something.

@BohemianBabe would you think it appropriate to have a wedding at the site of a Holocaust massacre? Or in a home where a family was slaughtered? It's all about human decency.
@AngelUnforgiven I wouldn't see a problem with that either unless the area was being used as a memorial or something like that. Like holding a wedding in front of a Holocaust museum wouldn't be appropriate.
