Do you save your Valentines?

For 27 years every Valentines Day flowers would arrive from my secret admirer.

No name. Just love. Steady. Quiet. Unwavering.

This year they won't come. An absence I find in my heart dug deeper as that day edges closer.

Not because the love has faded but because the hands that sent them are gone.

My father was my secret admirer.

Grief has this strange way of unmasking devotion.

As a little girls what was at first a magical mystery for my sister and I was, as years passed ; a lifetime of love choosing shared anonymity...

Not to be seen....only felt.

Some Valentines won't arrive in bouquets anymore...they'll land as memories.

Saved forever.

Aww that's so special. ♥I've saved a few trinkets and cards. I don't recall my dad getting me something every Valentine's, but at least I could talk to him occasionally, normally. (Vs. my mom who is a rageful psychopath). He's now fighting aggressive cancer and they said any treatment could kill him. So it's been so hard seeing him get worse each week. He may only have weeks left. How did your dad pass?

@Coralmist I'm sorry...🩷🙏🏻✝

He'd suffered another heart attack shortly there after. Our time here is limited...he accepted that and had great faith in a God of his own understanding.

May you make every right now count with yours. 🫂
