Why do people make a big deal about Valentines Day?

Like seriously what’s he big deal? Every asks who their Valentine is, or whatever. It’s embarrassing. It shouldn’t even be a holiday.

Tbh, I feel the same about most holidays...

I mean, if you really care for someone, want to gift them something, just want to catch up for a bbq or whatever, why wait for a particular holiday?

you never know what the future holds and by the time that holiday comes they might not even be around any more
