I had the walleye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It had this sauce that was sour, runny and seemed to have dill or another herb in it. It tasted aweful. I wouldn’t suggest the secret sauce from that restaurant to anyone. Luckily the fish was good, but the sauce 🤮

@Heartlander no it was a western cuisine restaurant in Grand Rapids. I don’t recall the name.
@Canuckle I asked because some where in my memory are Chinese and Vietnamese popular sauces that are unfamiliar to Anglo taste. One in particular is kept in a covered small dish and spooned out quickly to control the release of the aroma.

@Heartlander it kinda resembled a salad dressing of some sort. I should’ve asked what it was.
Cabbage. I lived 96% of my life detesting the aroma of cooked cabbage, and no way could I get past the aroma and the gag reflex to eat it. Then, one day, some creative cook figured a way to suppress the aroma and not knowing it was cabbage I liked it and asked "what is it?"

@Heartlander Cabbage adventures. I love it. LOL. Sounds like you make a mean cabbage dish. Bravo. Happy Sunday!
@PoetryNEmotion Thanks to Filipino roommate in college, stir fries have been a routine part of our diet for 60 plus years. Easy enough to adapt those ideas to cabbage.

@Heartlander That culture tends to use a lot of vegetables.

I had Truffle flavored chips that were pretty good. I always wondered what Truffles taste like and although im sure that alone they probably taste different.

@Lostpoet Yes, likely they do. How did the chips taste? Were they expensive? Truffle oil is top of the line.

@PoetryNEmotion That's what it was Truffle oil and sea salt. It was good i can't really describe the taste though. The chips were Kettle chips.

I'm difficult when it comes to trying new foods, but I enjoyed all but one of the things he sent me.
No, I'm not gonna describe it in detail.

@SW-User Sounds good. There was a contest recently where one part was to consume a new food. It was fun.

Two things:
- Lavender liqueur - yes, definitely recommend, it was clear and sweet reminiscent of cognac in a way .
- Avocado smoothie - I'm not sure if I liked it or would recommend it. It's was nice to taste, but it was heavy - as in, it became too much.
If you had one, you'de have to make it that you don't have anything else. It's kinda like drinking a whole meal ....very filling and rich-ish.

@OogieBoogie Sounds cool. I have heard avocado is popular now. Not a fan of it in a salad. Have a golden day, love.
