Cabbage. I lived 96% of my life detesting the aroma of cooked cabbage, and no way could I get past the aroma and the gag reflex to eat it. Then, one day, some creative cook figured a way to suppress the aroma and not knowing it was cabbage I liked it and asked "what is it?"

@Heartlander You do not know the wonder of homemade cabbage rolls. Fried cabbage with apple sauce, apples, chicken broth, bacon? I make the finest rolls from scratch. Good for you!
@PoetryNEmotion Cabbage now makes it to our dinner plates 2 or 3 times a month. With just 2 to feed, an average head turns into at least 2 meals. A variety of veggies, fruit and add-ons get blended in the mix as I cook it down. Apple, brown sugar, cider, soy sauce, peppers, celery, onions, And of course sausage. The cabbage makes a nice bed for a brat link or two.
More creative dishes in my future. To many great YouTube cooking videos to lead me on to bigger cabbage adventures to be ignored.

@Heartlander Cabbage adventures. I love it. LOL. Sounds like you make a mean cabbage dish. Bravo. Happy Sunday!
@PoetryNEmotion Thanks to Filipino roommate in college, stir fries have been a routine part of our diet for 60 plus years. Easy enough to adapt those ideas to cabbage.

@Heartlander That culture tends to use a lot of vegetables.
