How do I get more people to come to the parties I throw?

How do I get more people to come? I just had my birthday party and I invited 10 people. Only one girl showed up while i cleaned everything up. I gave them two months notice I called them a day before the party to remind them tomorrow is my birthday party I had it on the weekend and i reminded them there will be free food. It makes me feel like no one cares about me my parents have to travel alot for work so they were not there it was just me and my husband, i even found a sitter for my son cooked all this food. When i called each guest during a party some didnt answer three of them were sick one of them her husband pulled his back out and the others said they forgot.

To start with, you're not Emma Watson. 8-)

What sort of birthday party are you trying to throw? An informal one maybe over dinner? A more formal sort dinner party?

Was the parties you put on appropriate to the demographic mix of the people you'd invite (presumably friends + family), and appealing?

Really sorry to hear your desires to be a really social host aren't working. I've never put on any sort of social event for friends because I don't really have friends. When my 8 y/o daughter was 7 I had a big birthday party for her at a kids play centre, but could never host any sort of large party at my house.

Happy birthday!
@zonavar68 thank you it was going to just be a fun party like the kind in the olden days where people would come and eat and we would play games. I had a few games prepared I cut items out some guessing games and the people at the party are just anyone I know i thought if i invite a huge crowd someone will come. This is not my first party and every time one or less people show up. I dont get it I try hard I send out reminders.
