I’m not stressing about the Trump win this time.

Back in November 2016, when Trump won the election, I was very upset. And for good reason, I’m overall not happy with what he did as president. And I’ll probably not be happy with decisions he’ll make this time around. Such is life.

So, the reason I’m not as stressed this time around? I’m more positioned to actually get something out of his win. E.g. Money.

The market was bound to do well in light of a Trump win, and with his recent backing of crypto, my overall portfolio’s up by over $1k. Maybe more like $2k+, depending on the day. Overall I don’t have a whole lot of money so that’s a good chunk for me, like at least 20%. And it’s right when I really need it too, I haven’t been working since my car accident, and have kinda needed to rely on my stock and crypto holdings to cover most of my expenses besides rent after my disability payments ran out.

Anyway, Kamala lost and that kinda really sucks, but I still feel like I won. 💅

Trumps win is like a cancer diagnosis and 4 years of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. The difference is it could have been prevented. The market would do better under the Democratic Party.

@Zeuro I hope you are correct but I’m not optimistic at all.

@TheShanachie I get it, but I think crypto is here to stay. It’s only gonna go up from here in the long term

You like open borders? High inflation? Woke military? High crime? World on fire? Billions wasted? Then you're right to be a harris voter.

@Strictgram very American...do away with any dissenting opinion...remember "alternative facts" used by your side to support your conspiracy theories?

You're getting closer. As young people mature and become more self-supporting, they begin to realize that liberal politicians aren't benefiting them in any measurable way.
Virtue signaling doesn't pay the bills.

Why do the markets prefer him? Why do the celebrity 'elites' hate him? Why do the worlds leaders respect him?
Strong economy, more secure borders, world peace aren't a bad thing.

Look, I know he isn't perfect by any means, because nobody is. But yeah I voted for him due to how bad the economy is currently and because I would rather avoid WW3 and also because of how bad the negative affects are of the nonstop unfettered illegal immigration problem. It really put a strain on the economy and the country as a whole. Things have been so bad that everybody in my life pretty much all voted for Trump, even people who I have personally known for years who despise him all told me "Yeah, I'm voting for Trump." I just hope WW3 doesn't break out before he gets inaugurated, because things aren't looking so hot right now.

Oh great... Just one more self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-serving entitlement collector.

Then why is it that my portfolio is up too, which is a short term jolt entirely driven by emotion, yet I still feel dread for many millions of Americans who are going to suffer under this regime. Just read that another woman died in Texas because of lack of medical care around a miscarriage. Those things are more important than my money.
Zeuro · 26-30, F
@Ynotisay I understand that. Part of me feels the same way. But honestly there’s not a whole lot we can do right now about it, I’m just trying to look on whatever positives there are. There’s really no point in stressing, I mean donate to the right organizations if you can, but other than that it’s out of our hands for the next 4 years. This is a personal positive for me and I’m trying to not feel like shit about the situation. And honestly I am at a point in my life where my personal finances ARE really important to my wellbeing

@Zeuro I hear you. But I would mention that this is a temporary positive. That's built in to the market cake but in this case it's even more pronounced. But there was minimal movement today and if Trump's tariffs threats come to fruition it would be a very different situation. Right now most of the markets are at record highs but that's been building for a while. Crypto is anyone's guess. That responds to different factors. So I understand personal finances but it can't be assumed that the markets will continue to grow. The reality is the markets were much better under Biden and Obama than Trump's first term. So counting on a surge, that happens after most every election, might not be the call. But good luck with it.
