I Learned Something New Today….

When you find a pile of dead June bugs behind something outdoors there’s probably a black widow spider’s nest next to them. Found two behind concrete blocks I’m overturning. It had been a little raised bed garden but I need to clean it out and put fresh dirt etc. in it now.

I'll go beast made on these spiders!!!! Although Wolf Spider are fine. They go after Black Widows as well

@FreestyleArt I whack them with a tool. I really need to put on a pair of thick gloves though.

I am SO glad I didn't move to Oklahoma after my divorce. It was one of my options.

@4meAndyou black widow spiders in a lot of states. My grandma got bit by one in Missouri when she was outside doing chores, felt something on her forehead and wiped it and it bit her. She also got bit by a rattlesnake when she bent over and picked up something in the yard.

yes get rid of those spiders uugghh ! shudders !
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@FurryFace I kill them when I see them but you can’t get rid of all of them, it’s outdoors. I don’t mind those orb-weavers etc but black widows and brown recluse spiders I don’t tolerate.

My property was infested with black widow spiders...I got rid of them.

@cherokeepatti I know that smell.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Azlotto I never smelled it till I moved here. My friend lived in a rural home some 35 years ago. She said one evening she went into her bedroom and it smelled like a dead rat in there. She walked out and told her husband she thought that a copperhead snake was in the bedroom. They got a hoe and a flashlight and found it under their bed. Got it out and killed it. I told her that if it was me holding the flashlight I’d have to run and take a shower after that. Would scare the crap out of me not to mention feeling paranoid after a copperhead getting in the house. Yikes.

@Azlotto at least it’s a warning. I would hate to lose my sense of smell even just for that reason alone.
