Taking a Knee” is NOT by definition disrespectful. Soldiers “Take a Knee” to show respect for fallen comrades. People kneel in Church to pray and show respect.
Disrespect would be continuing to sit while the National Anthem is played.
Those that stand and then “Take a Knee,” both show respect and are making a statement that they feel needs to be make.

i'm afraid that "taking a knee' in the US is a sign of disrespect for the flag and for "the republic for which it stands".

@laotzu92 No I don’t think I will. It’s probably as much use as the flag that’s about to take a trip up sludge alley

@ChemDawg
I see it as disrespect or willingness to obey!
It was a decorated Green Beret, Nate Boyer, who suggested to Colin K that rather than sitting as a form of protest, kneeling would send the message of protest while still showing respect for our country. Taking a knee is non-violent, non-destructive and silent.

@ChemDawg I suppose you’re not religious, then. That I understand, neither am I.
