Flooding in January

On Friday 28 January, Auckland experienced an extreme amount of rain. Areas all over the city were flooded, and the entire region was put into a state of emergency due to the amount of damage. Auckland had 8x its normal January rainfall, and since it's summer it was warm as well as wet.

I nearly couldn't get home from work that day as the train station I live by flooded. Things seem to be OK for the moment, but it's likely that there'll be more rain yet.

New Zealand. Wow. The planet is in chaos. Natural disasters roam the world. I can only hope mankind learns quickly as their death is imminent. Slowly we head on the path to a cliff and then it collapses under our feet. Take care, KiwiDan.
8x is huge. The weather has become so extreme, you just don't know what to expect anymore.
