@NerdyPotato Such an innocent potato... Sadly, yes, the first day of your cycle and a pregnancy test are literally the first two questions ladies are asked at just about every medical appointment.

@HootyTheNightOwl but after that you're told to lose weight before they'll look at anything else, right? (Including any conditions that might make you gain weight.)

@NerdyPotato I found that "Lose weight" has been a common feature of medical appointments from the age of 9.

You know that I have an eating disorder and I restrict my food intake... even at the worst of that, when I was eating just 2 slices of bread and butter every other day, I was told to lose weight and "Cut down on the snacks".

Yes, I'm overweight and could do with losing a couple of stones - I know that... but the reason I was there was to talk about my ME/CFS symptoms.

I asked for help to get my eating up so that I could have a healthy diet - and the doctor looked at my stomach, scoffed and said "Cut down on the snacks". Yes, they knew I had a B12 deficiency, even then. Ever since then, my man and I have been managing my eating disorder alone - even in my current struggle to get back to eating twice a day.
