Yes, but I don’t get it! Why is November first “all hallow day”? What does it mean?

@XenonRush november 1st beign all hallows is a catholic holyday for centuries... it may not be as popular as easter or xmas but its another of those pagan holydays that got assimilated by the christian church

A hallow is an old word for saint or venerated person. So All hallows day eventually became All Saints Day. But Hallows e'ven retained it's old English name.
