Why is Halloween called “all hallows eve”?

So, Christmas Eve is called that because, Christmas Day is the next day!

If Halloween is called “All Hallows eve”, then what the hell is “All hallows day”?

@SW-User november 1st beign all hallows is a catholic holyday for centuries... it may not be as popular as easter or xmas but its another of those pagan holydays that got assimilated by the christian church
