I paid what I thought was an eyewatering amount for tickets to a London concert next month, but apparently Americans are buying tickets for European venues, flying out and staying in hotels, and still finding it cheaper. It's a pity for the young genuine fans whose families can't afford these prices.
@SunshineGirl good memories of that difference between the US and UK. 50 plus years ago I spent some USAF time at RAF Mildenhall and occasionally took the train into London for a weekend and over just a few months took in all the big Broadway shows for what amounted to pocket change. A couple of years later was living in NYC and checked ticket prices and yea, Super-Saver airfare plus hotel plus dinner plus ticket prices to see the same shows in London was cheaper than taking the subway for dinner and theater on broadway.
