Its' my sister's birthday this week

She has been doing really bad unfortunately- her diabetes is so labile and sensitive to insulin, for years she hasn't been able to take the amount of insulin she TRULY needs (It will go too low too fast). So it stays high w/out the insulin. This has led to neuropathy over time in both feet.. numbness daily, searing pain, she can barely walk. It is just horrible what this damn disease does. EVEN when she eats almost no carbs too.
She's been saying she barely wants to live, it is so BAD. Others on her neuropathy forum say it too b/c there's no true treatment that HELPs Numbness. Any kind words, wishes, etc. are welcome for this wonderful girl's birthday. 💜🌷🎂🥹

@GoFish Oh that sucks, does he take anything for it? No med has helped her. She's having a small piece cheesecake as it's the lowest on carbs..

Tell your sister that plenty of people here are wishing her happy birthday.
All birthdays are special because they come but once a year.
You show you love your sister so much. Happy days to you as well.

I just found out that my aunt has some kind of neuropathy in her feet. Not sure if it is from diabetes, but it is neuropathy. Anyway, she's getting some kind of implantable device to disrupt the nerve signals. Do you know about this? Have you looked into it??
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@sarabee1995 perhaps it is the Spinal stimulator? I think it's a device planted near spine and it stops pain signals from going down legs. Unfortunately my sister sugars are too high, they can only do it if lower for infection risk. Even though I found a study online that even high sugar cases rarely have infection with the stimulatior😟 Ty for that 🌺
