Son's birthday party next month

So our tiny tornado is turning 7 next month and I have been trying to figure out what kind of party to do. Well Joel's grandmother suggested we have a birthday/house warning family party.

It sounds great but I have a few problems one I don't want to take away from his birthday. I want it to be all about him. His special day. He tends to get sad around his birthday because of his mother. So I want it to make him happy

And second I don't want all those people in my house!! The thought of that really freaks me out. Like high anxiety. Like I'm stressing over it now just thinking about it. I've never hosted a big party or holiday at my house. I'll have a few people over but not a large group. I just don't want that many people in my house!

Is that bad of me. I was thinking of doing his party at a park or at Chuck e cheese or something like that.

I guess I should clarify something. We will be taking him out to do something of his choice for his actual birthday. I am thinking of what to do for the family party.

To make it all about him, for the family party, I’d think of a few options (like a park or Chucky’s as you’ve mentioned) and let him choose which option he’d like. That way it’s his decision but not a decision that’s gonna freak you out.

@OlderSometimesWiser I think that's what I'll do. I just don't want huge family party to my house. I've never done it because it just stresses me out so much thinking about it.

@OlderSometimesWiser I just over think things and this is really the first time I've had a large family I would want to invite to his party. It's all so new to me.
