I call it the season of death and oh how I miss Summer's warmth and glow.

@robingoodfellow Your sentiments remind me of Hermann Hesse's poem, Worship:
In the beginning was the rule of sacred kings
Who hallowed field, grain, plow, who handed down
The law of sacrifices, set the bounds
To mortal men forever hungering
For the Invisible Ones' just ordinance
That holds the sun and moon in perfect balance
And whose forms in their eternal radiance
Feel no suffering, nor know death's ambience.
Long ago the sons of the gods, the sacred line,
Passed, and mankind remained alone,
Embroiled in pleasure and pain, cut off from being,
Condemned to change unhallowed, unconfined.
But intimations of the true life never died,
And it is for us, in this time of harm,
To keep, in metaphor and symbol and in psalm,
Reminders of that sacred reverence.
Perhaps some day the darkness will be banned,
Perhaps some day the times will turn about,
The sun will once more rule us as our god,
And take the sacrifices from our hand.

I feel the same thing! End of August and Labour Day really are sad for me
Summer is tired and old and my garden has reached its summer peak.
Once im over that and Autumn begins, the sadness lifts and I really enjoy the fall.

Summer is ending but I really think fall is the best season. However, winter and my SAD comes too soon after the holidays.
robingoodfellow · M
@SageWanderer I love Fall for many many reasons. But I miss the warm summer nights.

Mmhm I know the feeling well. It's a sweet sort of melancholy.
Your post is beautiful, like a lovely bright spot in a sea of trash.

Summer often feels…. “Too much” to me, very quickly
I look forward to autumn

@robingoodfellow but I do love Christmas time too… that’s my happy place haha. Since having kids it’s very magical again
But once holidays are done and dead of winter hits… it’s rough. I think deep dead of winter and blazing mid-late summer are my worst times of the year

@WaryWitchWandering when Autumn fully arrives in her orange and yellow blaze of glory it's a feast for all the senses.
robingoodfellow · M
@WaryWitchWandering I never outgrew Christmas. I still find a lot of magic in it

I feel relieved. Plants are gonna stop shitting their pollen and the humidity decreases
