Wildfires a solution? Aqueducts!

If Europe were to construct aqueducts in high risk areas perhaps water from the ocean could be brought to the fires while slowing their spread with the barrier of an aqueduct. Maybe that’s why Roman Empire built them also to combat ocean level rise? Public works

A couple of things. You don't use salt water to fight wildfires. That's a very, very last resort. The equipment can't handle it and it destroys the soil. And a water barrier would only work in a wide open area on a grass fire. Trees burning means embers and they can fly for miles in the right conditions.

@Ynotisay I can admit that wildfires in my area of upstate New York are few and far between. Probably two my entire life of almost 40 years; so far. It is becoming more frequent!
Regardless, barrier such as firewall is usually effective. Water shortages are real so ocean water or reservoirs of some kind would be helpful. You asked! so deal with the response,

@Ynotisay I agree ocean water is a last resort I’m still pushing for firewall Barriers desalination with ionize stone such as clay and sandstone carrying the water would allow for it to become freshwater along the way. Also to combat sea level rise. These are just ideas. I’m observing emergency response that’s sometimes dropping sea water on the fires so options are clearly limited.

The evil Roman Empire did something good? Was it the barbarians or the Mongols that wiped
out the Roman empire? If I remember right they hated the Romans so much that they tore down
all the good things the Romans did, and set them back 100's of years, maybe longer.

Unfortunately fire breaks and aqueducts could kill some fish, bugs, or microbes, That is not
acceptable. Just ask the California Democrats. It's better to just let the fires burn and kill
everything.

I am not sure ir your question is meant to be serious or satire.

You'd need a lot of hefty great pumps to lift umpteen thousands of cubic metres of sea-water far inland and potentially hundreds of feet above sea-level.

The Roman aqueducts only worked because they all ran very gently downhill, bringing fresh water from higher altitudes to the towns.

The Romans did not know anything about ocean level rise, but even if they did bringing sea-water inland does not alter the level. That only happens if the water arrives as hundreds or thousands of years of snow-fall and stays there.
