Obviously not from Texas but I just picked my son up from a summer camp a week ago. I hugged him very tight when I heard about all the flooding. I can’t imagine what those parents are going through. Definitely praying for them.

@CaliCanadianAngela We have a few relatives living in the area. One cousin retired there from Galveston in part to escape from hurricane country.

@Heartlander Our son's family moved there last summer. Part of their city was evacuated, but they live on top of a hill and are safe.

@exexec Just a 5 or 6 foot hill can may be enough. A brother lives on the Mississippi coast and just being on the north side of the Interstate-10 rise is enough to keep him safe ... so far.

@Heartlander That's true for us here on the coast, but you need more in the hill country. The river rose from 1 foot deep to 34 feet deep at one point, so you needed to be fairly high to escape its effects.
