Just helpless

My hometown flooded. My parents were rescued by boat but now the church they’re in has lost power. They don’t know where they’re going to sleep tonight and my mom’s Parkinson’s has made it difficult for her to mentally handle changes to her routine, let alone her physical dependence and still healing from the pacemaker surgery. We tried to go get them, but we were still two hours out when all roads in and out were closed down. Fingers crossed it recedes enough I can get to them tomorrow and bring them up here. My house isn’t handicap friendly so I’m not sure how we’re going to navigate the bathroom for her, but we’ll figure it out. Their house won’t be habitable for some time, if ever. I hate that I couldn’t get to them. It’s such an awful thing. 😞

If you can contact her maybe the RED CROSS or fire department can....don't worry about details you can't control, now.

I'll say a prayer for y'all
I’m so very sorry …. I will definitely keep them and you in my prayers …

Don’t worry about things … I’m sure that you will manage things gradually … hugs sweet Nik .. 🤗🤗🌸❤️

Oh no! That’s a tough situation. She is fortunate to have you to help, but I can tell it won’t be easy. Wishing you strength!
One does what one can, but one can’t do what can’t be done.

I know that’s awful. C’mon TOMORROW!

That is horrible.

I know what it is like not to have handicapped bars in my apartment. I once had to use a walker, and had to grab the vanity counter to lower and raise myself off the toilet. I live on the second floor and even now I have to hold onto both stair handrails, and when I descend I sometimes face sideways, one foot at a time.

@JustNik That's fabulous news 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
@JustNik YESSSSSSSS. “Hi, I love you so much. I need a nap now.”
So very frustrating, not being able to get to them. It may sound trite, but take some very deep breathes. You are blocked and not able to do anything -- just yet. The resolution we want, most likely will be painstakingly slow.

@Soossie is right. Prayers are so very important. May you be blessed with peace and strength, on this path before you.
Oh WOW! A real hard time!

I hope this gets resolved--for now and then more permanently--soon!

What a horrible situation. When you consider these wild extremes of weather could probably have been prevented with efforts to reverse climate change

Oh no that's terrible.

I hope they are safe and well and you can soon get to them. 🤗🤗🤗
