We're currently living through the sixth mass extinction on the planet. Previously none had been due to a particular species like this one is.
Obviously the planet won't die completely and life will continue and the planet until our sun starts to expand in billions of years.
But are we likely to make the earth uninhabitable for most animals and ourselves? Possibly. We really need to listen to nature.
