If only 1% of the Earth's surface is urbanized, why are climate change activists crying about deforestation?

Especially when governments around the world already make sure there's regulations in regards to clearing out the wilderness?

deforestation is a myth; there are more trees now than there were 35 years ago; a net gain of about 2.24 million square kilometers (roughly the combined land surface of Texas and Alaska)
@wildbill83 exactly

Have you seen google maps? Its more than 1%...
@GuyWithOpinions with enough skyscrapers, yes it's possible; with suburban homes, everyone in the world can fit into the state of Texas

@uikakarotuevegeta but were not. Were spread out everywhere with large cities, farmland and infrastructure. Almost everything since the dawn of man has been made out of wood. Forrests have been cleared, species have gone extinct and the oceans are full of garbage. Even the air and rain is toxic at times in some regions.

Big money clears the land of trees. Natures natural carbon filter.

Then their crooked media convince us it’s our personal carbon footprints that are the problem..

Cow farts
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout fossil fuels emitting carbon is a good thing for life because plants need it and if there's too little carbon, all life dies through a chain reaction

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout So... industrial farming, isn't "big money". And consumers have no stake in why industrial farming or any industry excist. But this all falls in line with this great narrative, where you have no burden of blame, but some scapegoat carries all of it, and you can ignorantly go on with your life as if you have no negative effects at all on your surroundings. Sorry the "crooked media" shakes up that delusion from time to time... must be hard for you.

Because right now is a good time to stockpile fire wood. The dam stuff is selling for $100 a bush cord!
@swirlie because of what?

@uikakarotuevegeta
Well, because of the impending firewood shortage!
Haven't you heard? 😳
