If I did, I’d hope the local FD had a tanker with a capacity of at least 30,000 gals. of water should my car’s battery start a fire.

@soar2newhighs isn’t that the truth
Funlov · M
@soar2newhighs but they don’t look at that they don’t think about it
@Funlov Yeah, and the manufacture of such batteries is not a positive for climate change.

@soar2newhighs Nobody's forcing you to buy a Tesla, dude.
@LordShadowfire Not about me, dude. It’s just a fact these cars involved in fires due to the batteries are difficult to extinguish. You realize that?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@soar2newhighs So, you're extrapolating from the fact that Teslas have a history of being very dangerous when they catch fire, and ASSuming that all EVs do that? Or do you have actual documented evidence?
@LordShadowfire The batteries when they fail and catch fire are hard to extinguish. Why not look up NFPA information on the situation.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@soar2newhighs Why are you making a positive claim and not linking to any evidence yourself? Why is it my job to prove your statement?
@LordShadowfire It’s a matter of fact and record that these EVs when involved in fire caused by the batteries, they require great amounts of water to extinguish.
I have to link it? It’s a matter of public record.

@soar2newhighs Well, I say it's a matter of public record that Bigfoot is the governor of Idaho. No, I won't provide any links to back it up. You have to go look for yourself.
@LordShadowfire I am a retired firefighter and stay current on such issues.

@soar2newhighs Yeah, and I'm a political analyst for a major news network, and Corvus is the president of a small European country.

@soar2newhighs And there is that ship that sank after a number of electric cars caught fire and destroyed enough of the ship to cause it to sink a few weeks after the fire. I wonder if anyone remembers the FedEx airplane that burned and crashed from a battery fire on board. Lithium batteries are handled very differently by airlines now. I prefer a barbeque to a carbeque.
@hippyjoe1955 First time I heard of either of these events. When did they occur?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@soar2newhighs FedEx was 2004 2013 for the Boeing 787 battery fires. Sorry about the confusion since I posted 777 when it was two 787s that had battery fires.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@soar2newhighs It's up to you to prove they didn't.
@hippyjoe1955 Looked them up. Thanks.
