Can we demand a public apology from Will Smith?

As a fan of both Chris Rock and Will Smith, I think Will Smith was so childish. Chris Rock’s jokes were very funny and he didn’t deserve to be smacked in the face for telling a joke. Maybe Will was drunk or high or something. If he does not apologize, then he needs to grow up because he is setting the wrong example. Just like Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift in 2009, Will Smith is totally out of line for doing that. Interrupting a comedian/presenter at an award show doesn’t make you look good.

We're so quick to judge others without looking at ourselves first! If your wife was diagnosed with a disorder or cancer and someone makes a joke about them losing their hair what would you do?

@Souls Like Chris said, “It was a G.I. Jane joke”. I don’t think he was making fun of her illness. Besides, she looked amazing with her shaved head. Not everyone can shave their head and still be that beautiful.
@Faroutcat He was making fun of her illness because if you know anything about G.I Jane you would know she is bald! Smith already came out to the world about her illness and it was used against her as a joke!

@Souls Yes. I know G. I. Jane was bald. That’s what makes the joke funny. 🤣
The joke was about her bald head, not her illness. There’s no reason for her to be so self- conscious when she looks so good.
Somebody else brought up a good point: Ricky Gervais has said much worse things on previous award shows.
@Faroutcat Smith's bald head is due to her illness! It isn't funny God forbid you or someone you love get cancer and everyone makes a joke about you having no hair sitting in a wheelchair receiving radiation!
"There's no reason for her to be so self-conscious when she looks so good." Regardless of how you perceive her on the outside, it doesn't mean it isn't damaging her mentally you don't know what someone else is going through! People like you are the reason why mental health is at its all-time high!

@Souls Sorry if I offended you by my comments.
@Faroutcat You didn't but I'm trying to help you understand the effects a joke like this can cause. Jokes are meant to be funny I get it but not when it's touching on someone's personal life like cancer/diseases people have to wake up every day like this with no cure holding on to hope for better days.

@Souls My original point was that regardless of whether Chris Rock’s joke was of poor taste or not, that doesn’t give Will Smith the right to smack Chris and then yell F-bombs. Especially when he said he enjoys being a role model to children.
@Faroutcat I agree! I don't support violence he should have handled it better and/or spoken to him about it in private!
