Can we demand a public apology from Will Smith?

As a fan of both Chris Rock and Will Smith, I think Will Smith was so childish. Chris Rock’s jokes were very funny and he didn’t deserve to be smacked in the face for telling a joke. Maybe Will was drunk or high or something. If he does not apologize, then he needs to grow up because he is setting the wrong example. Just like Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift in 2009, Will Smith is totally out of line for doing that. Interrupting a comedian/presenter at an award show doesn’t make you look good.

Chris Rock's " joke" was disgusting and totally inappropriate.

@Fluffybull It was the meanest “joke” I ever heard at the Academy and designed to be cute with an underlying tone to hurt!

It was so mean and unnecessary even if she cheated with him with his son's friend @Pfuzylogic

Jada made the comment the “she just wanted to feel good” about her affair but they had an open marriage; her affair was more public. Chris Rock just went to a place he shouldn’t have. For Will Smith to put his career on the line and do what he did, I found impressive.

@Pfuzylogic Really, dude? Acting out violently and yelling F-bombs in public at an award ceremony impresses you?

A bit of the personal attack there dude? Really?
I admired Will Smith and still do.
He handles his business perfectly.

@Pfuzylogic In an interview a few years ago, Will said he enjoys being a role model for kids and I believe he tries to do so in many areas of his life. But physically attacking the host and yelling F-bombs does not make a good role model.
In most award shows the hosts are reading from a teleprompter which most of the jokes are written by comedy writers. I’m not sure if that was the case here but regardless it doesn’t give Will the right to storm up on the stage.

Will Smith apologized.
He defended his wife.
Words can viciously assault and Will took care of his business.
