Those Solar Panel Sales Guys Are Working For Scammers…

A neighbor couple fell for it. They are in their 70’s and had them installed on the roof on the front of the house. It’s an ugly mess of different sizes of panels. Their electric bill was averaged at $590 a month and with the savings on these panels they will have bills averaging $340. Problem is that their payments for those solar panels & installation is over $300 a month for SEVENTY yes 70 years!!!! Next time those little solar salesman come knocking on my door I’m going to open my door and then slam it in their faces when they start up. They have come around here at least 5 times that I know of and I’ve told them to stay away. I believe what this amounts to is when the people die or can’t make the payments the solar company will seize their home to pay off the loan. Oh Yeah these panels are made in China and it sounds like the company is a Chinese company. This is how dirty they are about trying to grab American real estate.

@Justice4All We have friends that live in a self sustaining, off grid monestary and they describe it as an ongoing process and definitely not a one time installation. Too many variables constantly changing.

@Justice4All All it will take it one good hailstorm and they are destroyed. We live in central Oklahoma where it’s common.

Sounds like we have a need for serious usury laws. While at it, laws that prohibit contracts where buyers surrender their right to consumer protection laws in favor of seller appointed arbitrators.

@Heartlander This is predatory lending.

In Australia that would be an interesting one as a financial counsellor. I would be advising the clients not to pay due to unconscionable lending practices

@nedkelly I believe they are targeting the elderly. A couple in their 70’s are not going to live to pay off that loan so the house will be taken when they die. This should be illegal to make 70-year loans. No telling how much they paid for a down payment. The sad thing is that this couple make good money in Social Security and retirement pensions. I don’t know why they were concerned about the electric bill, they keep their lights on at night and no telling what else. My highest bill last year was $209, the rates have gone up but I am using a bit less than last year so far the bills aren’t much higher. ….and We get phone calls every week, sometimes several in a week, from people saying they want to buy our homes. It’s harassment and different people are calling probably getting paid a finder’s fee for when they get one wanting to sell. I have heard that the Chinese are behind this. Very aggressive.

@cherokeepatti The very idea that someone can hide behind an unlisted and untraceable phone number is our warning that we don't live in a fair world.

I have read complaints from people who had them installed that they were have all kinds of trouble with them. They cant seem to get any help from the companies that sell and install them.
Whats the roof repairs going to cost when you have to get them removed?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Adrift Yeah, they will have to be removed before a roof can be redone. That’s going to cost more money. Geez…I guess that couple isn’t able to think of these things and the complications.
Contact your state attorney general’s office and give them the information about this company and how they are targeting the elderly
Bastards!!😡
