If an employee tells you "have a nice day"...

... do you tell them "you too" ? i mean they are at work and propably have a bunch of more miserable hours ahead of them. feels kinda like mocking them to me

am i thinking to much into this ?

I generally say it first. They're probably having a shit day, and if someone shows a little concern for them as a human, that counts :-)
