If an employee tells you "have a nice day"...

... do you tell them "you too" ? i mean they are at work and propably have a bunch of more miserable hours ahead of them. feels kinda like mocking them to me

am i thinking to much into this ?

I do. I can't really see it as a way of mocking them. at least it's no more mocking for them than it is to tell me to have a good one.
