Gerrymandering.

Yes it's funny about Gerrymandering...obama used it widely but then prevented conservatives to use it . Only after his executive order was vacated by the SCOTUS did things start changing and the libs started losing

@TexChik: Obama never used it, nor was there an executive order for or against it. It has to do with voting district boundaries that are created by each STATE, usually following the census every ten years. And since more states have Republican majorities, the gerrymandering benefits mostly Republicans (California being an example of the opposite).

@TexChik: surely you're trolling because...

@windinhishair: I know exactly what its for and how its used and that Obama blocked its use by conservatives to chip away at his stranglehold on it citing an obscure interpretation of the voter protection act suddenly upheld by libby stacked appellate courts. The SCOTUS did in fact rule against his interpretation of the voter protection act, vacated the appellate rulings, and the conservatives quickly began overcoming his edict

That's the Voting Rights Act, which was passed in 1965, when Obama was four years old. I doubt he had much to do with its passage. The Supreme Court invalidated Section 5 of the Act in June 2013, paving the way for the voter suppression activities that we've seen in the past four years to prevent minority voting. It had nothing to do with Obama or his interpretation. It had to do with the existence of the Act itself. Had that section not been invalidated, those suppression efforts would be illegal still, even under a Trump Administration.
