If you came across a Medusa and she stared right at you, would you...

1) Try to kill the monster to see if that would reverse it in time, or

2) Give in knowing it's futile and just strike the pose you would like to be displayed as forever.

@wonkavite04: For being quite intelligent, I think library would be best for you :) That way you can stay there forever around the books as classmates wonder why the statue looks like their lost classmate. ;)
