I was reading about it and it doesn't seem like the pics were taken at the proper time. His number of attendees is estimated to be around 900,000- which is a lot. Obama's first inauguration was 1.8 million in attendance, though.

Well keep in mind you can always go to international media, or fact-checking sites, or just ask people who went to both. Obama's 2008 crowd was the largest in history, so Trump would almost certainly have a smaller crowd.
Keep in mind this was an election of unpopular candidates. Just because Trump won doesn't mean he's now well-loved.

@voyelle: Unfortunately, people have this need to label. Race and gender are the easiest. Whether one supported obama or not, I can see why people would want to attend such a historical event.

Ya my coworker was there, he's saying it was pretty dismal. It's ok though doesn't necessarily mean anything significant.

They were both taken at 1 PM and provided by the New York Times. The National Park Services tweeted then since they control the DC Malls.

the trump side was taken early because I saw the same Arial shot later that showed the mall with many more people gathered though you could still see the white matting....
there WERE less people than Obama had but I think it's wrong to deliberately exaggerate the point by posting misleading pictures..
I'm not a fan of trump but I'm even less of a fan of our lying media...

and i live in d.c., work down town. it wasn't that big, hell the national air and space museum gets more in a day during tourist season than this celebration did.

yeh, republican'ts have trouble with reality. this is NOT news... it's been severely redundant like this since reagan.
and republicans have a very short term memory OR can't read.
not sure which yet. i recognized the picture on the blog from articles when obama's last swearing in.
i guess google and archive.com is too much work for some to do any comprehensive research.
there is a conclusive grasp to this but denial is much more dramatic.
(and the fact i work in d.c. it wasn't that big. matter of fact the numbers were smaller than the folk live festival!)
