How do I tell my boss how I feel about him without making it awkward?

It's a platonic thing mind you, but I look up to him, and appreciate his company. This man has helped me out a lot. I work for him, I rent from him. He's always treated me good and fairly, and he looks out for me in certain ways, and that is rather humbling. He's like a father to me in a way, and I his son.. but such language needn't ever be mentioned. Even on the terms in which I have with him, as a tenant and as an employee,, it feels good to show him my loyalty. Maybe I shouldn't bring up such feelings and just let a good thing be.
