That was awkward lol

So last week I took my car to the car repair shop and since I had to leave it there, the only person available to pick me up was my cousin, so I called him to ask him to please pick me up to drive me home. He picked me up and along the way, we stopped by a small store. I got out of my cousin's car to grab a pack of gum while he searched for a spot to park. Soon I got out of the store and found him parked just a few feet away, so I headed that way while I was texting a message to my mom and opened the door of the car and got inside...still texting on my phone. A few seconds later, I heard a knock on my window and found my cousin outside looking at me strangely. I quickly looked at the driver beside me and realized I got into the wrong car lol😂 I quickly told the man, '' Oh, I'm sorry'' and opened the door to leave and he said,''I'm not'', smiling at me and added ''It's okay''. All I could manage was a short, awkward laugh and I quickly left his car. My cousin was doubled over laughing when I asked him where the hell he had his car parked. I swear they had the same white car lol. That teaches me not to be so absent-minded 😂

Don't get in the car with strangers 🤣

@sstronaut I did that a lot in the 1970s. Never had a bad experience. I hitched thousands of miles in England, Scotland, Wales, France, Belgium, Netherlands. Usually alone sometimes with a girl friend.
@sstronaut

True, we shouldn't, ever.

Wait...🤔 does riding an Uber count?😄
@ninalanyon My understanding is that those were different times.

@LilMissAnonyMOUSE Uber is a paid service, in which, in theory the cops can track them down should anything happen. Though some people still say no.
@sstronaut That's a comforting thought☺

@sstronaut Yes they were different times. But that doesn't mean that it is any less safe now. In fact as far as I can tell from crime statistics violence from strangers has been declining in most of the western world for decades.
