There is even an expression for that. Have you ever heard someone say,
"Don't get your bowels in an uproar" ?? That simply means calm yourself. Don't let the stress get you. When one of my kids is upset, I instantly get cramps.

@AlphaPuppy: yup. It actually happens during times of extreme stress, I think probably fear is the top reason.

@AlphaPuppy: thank you. That was something I hadn't heard. I know that I get the shakes and cry after a crisis, and I figured that was from the adrenalin. I love this site. I learn something new every day.

Adrenaline is stress, the reason we feel physical effects of stress is because our body releases adrenaline, usually used to fight or flee, which doesn't get "burned off" by the muscles It's intended to boost and is absorbed by the major organs instead, its why stress is so harmful, its the adrenaline that causes a vast majority of the problems
