So my coach tells me there's a job for me in DC. Problem is most small apartments cost $3k/month to rent. Thoughts?

Similar to what eMortal said- it isn't a matter of if SW strangers think you should 'bite the bullet' or not. You need to analyze the numbers. How much would you be getting paid? Can you afford rent, gas or whatever form of transportation you plan to use, groceries, and general bills there while still being satisfied with the amount of money you make? You need to look at how you like to/want to live. If the job pays enough that you feel it provides you security, then it doesn't matter how much the apartment costs. Look at the cost of living there vs how much you would be making, and also consider how much money you would have just for casual/pleasure spending and decide if YOU think its worth it, and if YOU can afford it with however much you'll get from your new paycheck.
