now this was very embarrassing
ok so here goes... this happened to me just a couple of years and ill give you the in and out so you get the gist...
so youll see im from scotland, well in scotland we have an annual event called the links market which is held in place called kirkcaldy (it was a showground, funfair kinda thing, you know where you can rides just like you would at alton towers or such places) which has what you would call a promenade which runs parallel to the sea and this is where the event is held.
well, me and 3 of my friends decide we are gonna go down to the fair (or shows as we call them here in scotland) as we had a bit money us and we wanted to go on some rides. so we walked up and down the promenade about 2 or 3 times just scoping it out, seeing what they had really and we came to the decision we would go on a ride called the witchs hat/the claw (i dont really know to call it, it has many different names but it has like 4 seats on 4 different corners which sit parallel and face in the way), which was very strategically placed right along the waterfront. Stupidly i didnt think about my footwear whatsoever, well i was wearing my sneakers in which i dont tie the laces and because this ride goes up and down and spins you round and all sorts, well firstly my left shoe went flying off my foot and lands right in the sea and because scotland is such a nice place (sarcastically) i began to feel specks of rain drops on my socked foot. i could hear my friends laughing a little pointing at my sock having a little fun at my expense haha.
so i get off the ride one shoe lighter (and decide to just throw the other one away no point in keeping one shoe, the other one was away, non-retrievable) and i was wearing white socks which were on full show to a whole funfair of people when my friends decide they want another go as they really enjoyed it, so i said "okay, ill just wait at the side for yous" and just as the ride was starting well did it not start pouring with rain really quite heavily and i had to stand there in just my socks, getting absolutely soaked and because they were white they were absolutely visible and people were staring, laughing, okay so a few were a little sympathetic but most just stares and laughs and this went on for a good 4 or 5 minutes obviously until the ride had finished.
And because kirkcaldy is a fair bus journey from where i live that was me in my socks in the pouring rain for around 2 or 3 hours until we decided to come home AND to top it off i had to walk all the way up to the bus station and get on a bus full of people in just my white socks which were soaked through and very dirty on the bottom and i could just see EVERYONE or mostly everyone anyway looking at them. Honestly i just wanted the ground to open me up and swallow me whole.
