There are as many reasons why chemistry fails to materialize as there are fish in the ocean.....
What I usually advise when I hear statements such as the OP's is rather than totally writing off someone.... keep them in your friendzone.
Because they will have a circle of friends where you might find someone more to your liking.... OR.... they may eventually develop chemistry (it happens)....
